May 2, 2010

Simply can't resist the cuteness of Rin and Len wearing cat ears! >w< (Image source: 紅雪)

Welcome to this week’s Vocaloid music introduction segment, DT here as always. With the official release of the Miku Append earlier on Friday producers have been uploading new Miku songs using the Append and a few of them sound very promising to be up on the next Weekly Vocaloid Ranking.

Truth be told the new Append makes Miku sound much more realistic and natural than before, and we can expect many more Vocaloid songs to be created that way (when would news of Len’s new Append arrive?) and for me to introduce in this weekly segment as well.

Without further ado, let’s move on with the song introductions~ (more…)

Prism Song Samples Now Up

Click here to listen to the song samples at the Prism homepage

For those of you still wondering about getting the Kagamine Rin/Len cover album by Asami Shimoda (Asapon), you can now go over to the Prism homepage to listen to short versions of the songs in the album by clicking on the image above.

From the song samples provided I would be looking forward to more of Kokoro, Meltdown (Roshin Yukai) and Rin Rin Signal, which are some of my favorite Kagamine Rin and Len songs. Too bad Proof Of Life didn’t make it into the album since it’s actually part of a two episode series by Kagamine Rin and Len, with Proof Of Life by Kagamine Rin and Soundless Voice by Kagamine Len, for more info about these two songs you can view one of my Vocaloid music posts explaining about these two songs.

It seems to me that quite a number of nice Rin/Len songs are also sad songs as well, which I will be introducing a couple more later this weekend.

And if you can understand Japanese then you can visit Asapon’s Nico Nico Douga channel to view all the videos about Prism which includes the making of the album and interviews with the song creators and Asami Shimoda herself. This album will be released on the 10th of this month and retails at 3,000 yen, which you can still pre-order at Amazon Japan (ships internationally).

Vocaloid Ranking SP3 – Cherry Blossom Vocaloid Ranking Special

April 10, 2009

Source: 月菜

As the graduation season ends in Japan, a new Vocaloid Ranking Special have been uploaded. As opposed to the two before, this Top 100 countdown with a Cherry Blossom theme focused on the best songs from the 8-month span since the 2nd Special. To do so, any video that appeared before SP2 had their score from that special deducted from their total to make up their final point total. This allowed newer songs to earn airtime during the special, especially in the top 3. In addition to maintaining the Kiriban Channel and Otona no Vocoran, a new feature was the “…ga sugoi” lists, in which various contributors to the Vocaloid community are asked to give their Best 3 (ranking is optional). This time round with Megurine Luka entering the competition how will each of the Vocaloid’s songs fare in the ranking? Read on to find out! (more…)
