Guide – How to use Nicosound

Edit on June 4th 2010 – Uploaded the image guides to a new host so that you will be able to see the guide better.

In this post I will be providing a simple guide on how to get mp3 of your favorite Vocaloid songs from Nico Nico Douga links.

Sometimes when you watch Vocaloid videos on YouTube, you may have noticed that the uploader would have kindly provided the original Nico Nico Douga link (for example: Kagamine Len’s “SPICE!” – http://nicosound.anyap.info/sound/sm3249435) or at least, the Nico ID of the video on NND (example: sm6029342).

[SHORTCUT: Just replace the Nico ID of the song you want with the link example provided in my previous sentence and paste it onto your browser’s address bar before hitting enter].

Now, with the Nico Nico Douga link of the video in hand, you can start to download the mp3 with the instruction provided below.

Go to Nicosound.

In page 2, the download link would be read as “パソコンへ転送” on your browser instead of the “download” stated in my example. Nevertheless, just click on it, save the mp3 file to a location you want to save it to and enjoy listening to Vocaloid songs to your heart’s content from there on. =)

However, just in case the Vocaloid video that you are watching doesn’t have any NND link or ID provided, you can still get to download the mp3 version of the song, albeit with a bit more effort as described below. For the example listed below I will be using Kagamine Rin’s song “Dycon” to demonstrate.

The Japanese names of the Vocaloid are as follows:

【初音ミク】 – Hatsune Miku

Kagamine Rin

Kagamine Len

Megurine Luka

Akita Neru

Haku Yowane

Teto Kasane

Kamui Gakupo (Gackpoid)

Megpoid (Gumi)

In order to find the correct version of the song that you are looking for (because the song could be sung by another Vocaloid or even other artists), make sure you click on each link and try to listen to the song before deciding. The play button for the songs can be found somewhere just below the Nico Nico Douga description of the song.

Well, that’s about it. Hope you enjoy listening to the new Vocaloid songs you got from Nicosound using this guide. And if there’s any error, just notify me and I will edit it when I can.
