And so it seems we will be having a new Vocaloid joining us as well, and this time round it’s not by Crypton or Internet. Information from HEARTFAST mentions that an X’mas song album from HEARTFAST and Yamaha A&R titled “VOCALOIDS★X’MAS” featuring the new Vocaloid will be released on November 18th 2009 at a price of 2,500 yen. Following information from the Crypton blog, it seems Crypton has just started on an experimental project called “Project if…”, this concept will be different from the popular and successful CV (Character Vocal) series and hopefully something unique and special will be coming out of this.

Yes, you heard that right. Hatsune Miku will be in next month’s Anime Festival Asia (AFA) and this will be her very first overseas appearance outside of Japan. According to information posted on the Piapro blog back on Oct 5th, it has been revealed that the new sequel to the Vocaloid game will tentatively be called “Project DIVA Arcade”. SEGA has put up a notice as a competition inviting members of the public to submit original and unreleased Miku songs.
The length of the songs must be between 2:30-3:30 minutes and the competition will start from October 15th 2009 – October 31st 2009. Selected songs will subsequently be announced on November 16th and the music will be used for testing somewhere in January 2010. Yes, you haven’t heard this wrong. According to AnimeNewsNetwork (ANN), a figure of Hachune Miku will be set to launch aboard a rocket in the US later this month. This month’s launch, part of the eXtreme Performance Rocket Ships (XPRS) contest that will take place at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada from September 18 to 21, will only be expected to reach an attitude of about 2 kilometers, which is far from the lowest international recognized standard of going to space (80-100 km).

Ah, it sure has been nice during the past week, not only was Miku’s birthday on Aug 31st celebrated in fashion in Japan with a festival being held in her name but also, the much awaited Vocaloid Nendoroid Puchi set was up for pre-order on the same day as well. And the set proved to be so popular that the online reservations on Hobby Search were already closed shortly after the pre-order was out initially. I had a bit of trouble pre-ordering it but eventually I have decided to pre-order with one of the local figures shop here as it’s much cheaper than pre-ordering online. ^ ^
And anyway I have noticed by now that some of the YouTube videos which I mentioned in the previous Weekly Vocaloid Music posts aren’t working, and that’s because the uploader got his account suspended while trying to upload the performances from MikuFes 09 (that’s the festival celebrating Miku’s birthday, if you are not aware). But I will get around to replacing the videos mentioned in the posts very soon so that you can get to enjoy the videos and the music as well.
